I was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1978 and grew up immersed in film in the 1990s during the American independent cinema boom. In 2008, after marrying a beautiful woman from the Niagara Region, I made the move to Canada.
I decided to pursue my dream of making films and went to study film in Toronto, first at Ryerson University and then at Humber College. At film school, I majored in writing, directing, and production directed two short films, both of which went on to win awards at numerous festivals.
After graduating, I went on to make two short films very quickly and then my first feature film, The Long Night, in 2017. In addition to my writing and directing. I have also worked as an Assistant Director, Script Supervisor, Camera Operator, Editor and Production Manager.
After working on set for nearly a decade, I began to teach film, and video production and the joy I found in the classroom pushed me to pursue my Master's in Media Production. I graduated in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. The screenplay I wrote for my thesis will form the basis for my second feature film, Ryde. I have also recently taught classes on early Hollywood, independent film and the Hitchcock film North By Northwest.
I am currently in post-production on my fifth short film, P R E Y, a dark horror/thriller.
I am always excited to explore exciting and original stories through film and work collaboratively with other artists to achieve our shared goals.
